OMG your brain is obsessed by it!

But why?

Because it’s exactly that… SAFE.

Your brain knows it’s not going to harm you so those things you consider safe, get put in the “It’s ok to do” section of your brain.

That’s why when you do something you’ve done before, you have very little resistance in doing it. You just do it… happily.

When you step out of that warm n fuzzy comfort zone though and do something new or “risky”, your brain starts going “Weee waaa weee waaa” with it’s “FOR FUCK SAKE DON’T DO IT” alarm.

Your brain simply doesn’t know that you’ll be safe so it does everything it can to disuade you from doing the thing you were thinking about or planning on doing.

But those “DON’T DO IT!” thoughts are like one of those hall of mirrors at the fair where the things you think you see are simply not real.

They are phantoms! Ghosts! Scary beasties!

But like in all good ghost movies, you can walk through them, you can ignore them.

You CAN do that thing you were planning on doing, you simply need to ignore the ghosties and beasties in your head.

Remember what FEAR stands for… False Evidence Appearing Real. The key word there is FALSE.

Your brain will think what you’re doing isn’t safe, right up to the moment you actually do it. After that, it gets files in the “It’s OK to do” setion of your brain and you’re good to go.

Those thoughts that try to stop you from doing something that seems not safe are temporary, and weaker than you think they are.

Remember… YOU are in control, not the ghosties and beasties!
